We have had a great start to the 2026–2027 school year! Thank you to our students, families, and staff for the positive energy and support as we begin another year at Heritage Jr./Sr. High School.

Attendance continues to be a major focus, with a goal of every student maintaining an attendance rate of 94% or higher. Due to changes in Indiana law, all absences count toward a student's attendance rate. Students are allowed up to five absences with parent notification; additional absences require a doctor's note. Missing just 10–11 days during the school year drops a student below our 94% goal, so we appreciate families making regular and on-time attendance a priority.

I also want to recognize our students for doing an outstanding job following our cell phone expectations and keeping phones put away during the school day. Parents, please continue to support these expectations and regularly check Skyward to monitor your student's real-time grades and academic progress.

If you have not yet paid your student's $10 class dues, please consider doing so. These funds directly support student awards, celebrations, and activities that are not funded through our regular state or district funding.

Finally, we are proud to welcome our largest freshman class in several years! We believe this growth reflects the great things happening at Heritage and the confidence our community has in our school. We will continue working toward our goal of making Heritage Jr./Sr. High School the #1 option for students and families in our attendance area.
