Senior Noah Redmon sits as a table in the Heritage lobby along with his family, as he signs his letter of intent to continue his baseball and academic career at Indiana Tech

Wednesday, Feb. 7 was a memorable day for Heritage senior Noah Redmon and his friends and family. This was the day he signed with Indiana Tech, located in Fort Wayne, and officially joined their baseball team. Noah will be pitching and hitting for the Warriors this fall.

Local media on hand to record the signing.

Noah and the Heritage baseball coaching staff celebrate the moment.

“It is close to home and a great place to play ball,” he said of Indiana Tech. “I am very excited to play at the next level; it’s always been a dream of mine. The coaches and other players were very welcoming and made it a very easy decision.” Academically, he will be studying business.

In 2023, the Warrior baseball team finished a stout 33-17, and the program has advanced to the NAIA World Series many times in the past, along with having many players go on to play professionally.

Redmon was the ace for the Patriots baseball team that won the sectional and regional and went to the semi state season. He led the team with his sub 1.00 ERA. This ranked him 5th in Indiana. The star pitcher also was strong at the plate, hitting .344 with 3 home runs.

Redmon helped pitch the Patriots to their sectional and regional titles in 2023.

Asked about the approaching 2024 season, he said,  “I hope to have the same, if not more success than I had last season.”

“We had the label as the team that performs highly in the regular season but poorly in the postseason for a while now. Kind of that ‘choker’ team that can’t get over the hump, and now that we got over that hump, we’re looking to make history with the school’s first state title in baseball history,” he said of the team’s goals for 2024.

The Patriot senior has long had the goal of playing in college, a goal which he is now one step closer to achieving, and he even has a goal of playing professionally. Asked about his inspiration, he said, “Growing up, Ketal Marte (Seattle Mariners and Arizona Diamondbacks, 2015-present) was always my favorite player. Being from Arizona, it was a pretty easy choice. So I'd have to say he is my hero.”

Redmon and his Patriot teammates are set to begin their 2024 season in just one month, with a home game on March 26 vs. the New Haven Bulldogs.
